Moving cards

How to Order
Cards can be moved between columns, but must remain in descending rank order and alternating suit colors. For example, a red six may be moved onto any black seven.
Four free cells are also available as temporary card holders. Each free cell can hold a single card, and any card can be moved to an empty free cell.
Any card may be moved to an empty column.
When there is only one move left, FreeCell will display a warning at the bottom of the card columns.
If there are no moves left, the game is over.
Double-tap on a card to find the "best move" for that card and move it there.
To move a card to the aces, double-tap on it, or press page-up. You can also turn on 'automatically move to aces' which will move cards to aces after each move you make.
Moving stacks of cards
Instead of individually moving each card in the stack, FreeCell automatically does this for you. Simply select a stack of cards and if there are enough empty free cells or columns, the stack will be moved automatically.
The size of the stack you can move depends on the number of empty free cells, and number of empty columns. If size of the stack you can currently move is displayed on the screen between the free cells and aces. This number assumes the use of all empty columns as well as free cells, so if you try to move a stack to an empty column, you will not be able to move as many cards as displayed, since the column you are moving to cannot be used as a temporary place holder.

How to play
The game starts with the entire deck dealt face up into eight columns. The object is to move all the cards into four stacks by suit, starting with aces.
Moving cards
To move a card, tap on it to select it then tap on the location you want to move it to.
You can move stacks of cards by using the free cells as temporary place holders. For example, to move a stack of 3 cards, move the bottom 2 cards to the free cells, move the 3rd card to the new column, then move the 2 cards from the free cells to the new column.
You may undo the previous move by selecting Undo from the FreeCell menu, typing a backspace (right-to-left Graffiti stroke), or pressing the page-down button.
You can quickly see where all the cards of a particular rank are by typing the rank using graffiti or the keyboard. For example, type 'A', and the aces will flash momentarily. Use the numbers 2-9 for number cards, 1 or 'A' for aces, 0 or 'T' for tens, 'J', 'Q', and 'K' for face cards. The selected cards will temporarily highlight.
