New Installation

You will need to Hotsync Consumables25Inst.prc to your PDA.
Once you Hotsync the file to your PDA you will see the BMS ConsM install program in your Unfiled category on your PDA.

Click on the Icon to unpack the Consumables Manager files to your PDA. When installation is complete, the BMS ConsM install program will be removed and Consumables Manager will launch. Click Close then OK.

Note: Recommended PalmOS 3.5 or higher

 

 

Upgrading

If you are upgrading from a previous version of this software, simply follow the above "New Installation" procedure. Do NOT remove previous version of this software. If you do delete the previous version, you will lose all your data.

 

Application Overview

Consumables Manager was originally designed for managing office consumable supplies (ie Paper, Mail Supplies etc), however, it can be used to manage any consumable supplies, from Office Supplies to your Household Pantry. This application will allow you to record all the important information about your consumables, including item number, stock levels etc. When its time to order supplies, perform a quick stock take with your Palm and Consumables Manager will provide you with all the necessary order quantities, details and cost.

 

Main Menu Overview

List
This will list your entries. You can filter by Category, also create new entries, view Item,
Quantity available and Quantity Required.

Edit
Will allow you to Edit, Delete and Create new entries

Category
This is used to enter the categories that you will use to filter your listed entries (i.e. Paper, Lables etc).

TIP: This is where you should start first. Go into this section and enter in the Categorues you intend on using.

Some basic information & help.

About
Copyright, Contact and Registration.

Export
Clicking on the icon, will export the data to Memo Pad, which can be then accessed via your PDA's Desktop Software. The data is exported in CSV format.
Note: This function is only available when application is registered

Required Items Report
The icon next to the Export Icon produces a report of what items you need to re-order.

 

Adding a New Entry

1. Click on New Icon from either the Edit Menu or any of the listing screens.
2. Enter the Item Name.
3. Then Item Number.
4. Enter the Quantity you have In Stock.
5. Enter the Minimum Quatity you want to have available at all time.
6. Enter the Unit Cost.
7. Select the Category.
8. Enter the Storage Location.
9. Enter any notes.

That's It!!

 

Updating Stock

Updating Stock Levels is simple and can be done a number of ways.
For example you
if you simply find the item you want and change the Qty In field to suit current stock level for that particular item or click on the Stock button and update that way.

In this example we are going to be adding a quantity of 7 3M Magic Tapes to our current stock.
1. Find the Item.
2. Click on the Stock button.
3. Enter the number you will be either adding or removing from current stock (in this case 7).
4. In this instance we are adding to our current stock, so click on the Add button.

That's It!!

 

Searching

The example on the left shows two ways of searching, either by Item Name or Item Number.
1. From the Edit Menu click on the Either the Item Label or Item No Label.
2. Refer to the animated image.

 

 

Application Tips & General Information

Data Sorting
When creating a new record the data is sorted by the Item field, however it isn't re-sorted if you go back and change the Item Name. If the Entries require Sorting, select Sort DB from the menu.

Installation Files
When you install Consumables Manager on your PDA, the following files will be unpacked to you PDA:

PDATPELib * Resource Library that may be used by other applications
PDATDBXLib * Resource Library that may be used by other applications

If you need to delete Consumables Manager delete the Application file. We do not recommend deleting the Resource Library files as they are commonly used by other application.

 

Purchasing Information

This program is Shareware.

When you first install this application it will be in 14 Day Trial Mode. After the 14 day trial, the application will no longer run. If you decide not to register it after 14 days, you should delete it from your Palm OS PDA device.

We recommend you should try this application out during the Trial period, before buying.

Windows Conduit Available
Also available, Windows Desktop Conduit that is used in conjunction with this application to provide extra functionality and flexibility. This conduit will allow you to update and print the data on your Palm PDA directly from your Desktop PC. Features include sorting, filtering, archiving, printing and exporting.
