Installation
HotSync “Vivid.prc” to your NR70V.
Buttons
- Capture
The capture
button starts capturing video with the current settings.
The
hardware capture button on the upper left side of the NR70V also starts
capturing.
To stop the
capture either press the capture button again or press the Stop button.
- Stop
The Stop
button stops capture and playback.
- Play / Pause
The Play
button starts playback of the current video clip. The current video clip is
either the last captured clip or the last clip loaded from Memory Stick.
The Play
button turns into a Pause button while playing.
Pushing the
JogDial has the same effect as pressing the Play /
Pause button.
- Forward
Tapping
once on the Forward button advances the current clip one frame forward.
Holding the
stylus down on the Forward button starts to Fast Forward the current clip.
JogDial
Up also advances the current clip one frame forward.
- Backward
Tapping
once on the Backward button advances the current clip
one frame backwards.
Holding the
stylus down on the Backward button starts to Rewind
the current clip.
JogDial
Down also advances the current clip one frame backwards.
- Save
When you want
to save a captured clip to Memory Stick tap on the Save button.
Enter a
name for the clip and press the Save button and the clip will start saving to
Memory Stick.
To abort
while saving press the hardware capture button.
- Load
Pressing the Load button popups the Load Form.
The Load
Form presents a list of all the captured video clips currently present in the
VIVID folder on the Memory Stick.
When a
video clip is chosen from the list, information about that clip is shown and a
preview of the first frame of the clip is presented on the screen.
When a
video clip is selected in the list, hitting the Load Button will load that clip
for playback and hitting the Delete Button will delete the selected clip.
- Jpeg
All the
individual frames of a captured video clip can be saved to Memory Stick as a
JPEG picture.
Select the
frame you want to save by using the Forward, Backward and JogDial
to step between frames in the current clip.
Tapping on
the JPEG button will let you choose the name of the JPEG picture.
It will
also let you choose the quality of the JPEG picture from 1-10.
10 means
highest quality and largest file size and 1 means lowest quality and smallest
file size.
Then click
the Save button and the picture starts saving to Memory Stick.
- Mark In &
Mark Out
The Mark In
and Mark Out buttons is used to select a part of a captured video clip.
This is
useful when you only want to save a certain part of a captured clip.
The Mark In
button selects the start frame of a selection of a captured video clip.
The Mark
Out button selects the end frame of a selection of a captured video clip.
When both
Mark In and Mark Out is selected, playing the clip will only play the selected
part and hitting the Save button will also only save the selected part.
Info
- Progress bar
The
progress bar is used when capturing, playing and saving video clips.
When
capturing the progress color is red and indicates how
much of the current available memory this clip is using.
When the
end of the progress bar is reached the capture stops.
When playing
a video clip the progress color is blue and indicates
how far in the clip the playback currently is.
When saving
a video clip the progress color is orange and
indicates how much of the video clip that has been saved.
- Time
Time is
displayed in the format Minutes:Seconds.Frames
and when applicable as Hours:Minutes:Seconds.Frames .
The current
time is displayed under the leftmost part of the progress bar.
The total
time is displayed under the rightmost part of the progress bar.
When in
Preview or Capture mode the total time indicates the maximum length of a clip
that can be captured with the current settings and available memory.
When in
Play or Pause mode the total time indicates the length of the current clip.
- Clip Info
Clip info
shows information of the current clip. It shows its name, size, FPS and length.
Settings
- Size
You can
capture video in 12 different video resolutions.
320x240 is
the largest resolution.
214x160,
160x120, 107x80 and 80x60 are smaller versions of the 320x240 resolution.
When
capturing in these resolutions the preview is the full 320x240.
320x136C,
240x160C, 214x160C, 160x240C, 160x120C, 107x80C and 80x60C are cut versions of
the 320x240 resolution.
When
capturing in the C resolutions the preview changes to a cut version of the full
320x240.
- Rec FPS
The Rec FPS setting lets you change the number of frames per
second the video will be captured in.
Higher Rec FPS usually means better video quality and shorter
capture time, lower Rec FPS
usually means lower video quality and longer capture time.
- Cache
This
setting lets you choose whether to capture to internal RAM or to a Memory
Stick.
Capturing
to RAM allows higher Rec FPS than capturing to Memory
Stick.
- Effect
There are 5
different camera effects settings:
Off (Color)
Black & White
Negative
Sepia
Solarization
- White balance
This
setting changes the white balance of the captured video depending on the main
light source of the environment you are in.
Choose
fluorescent when the main light source is fluorescent, choose incandescent when
the main light source is incandescent, choose outdoor when you are outdoor and
choose auto when you want the camera to automatically decide on the best white
balance setting.
- Luminance
Change this
setting to make the captured video appear brighter or darker. Five different
luminance settings are available: +2,+1,0,-1,-2.
- View
When
playing back a captured video clip you can view it in a larger format than it
was captured in.
The
resolutions 320x240, 320x136C, 240x160C and 160x240C allows for full screen
playback.
- Play FPS
The Play
FPS setting lets you change the number of frames per second a captured video
clip will be played back at.
Set the
Play FPS to a value lower then what the video clip was captured in to playback
in slow motion, and set the Play FPS higher then the video clip was captured in
to playback in ultra rapid motion.
- Bg Color
This
setting lets you change the background color of the
screen when playing back clips and when capturing clips in any of the C
resolutions.
You can
choose between White, Light grey, Grey, Dark grey, Black and Blue.
- Sounds
This
setting lets you turn off the beeps and clicking sounds played when clicking on
buttons and choosing settings, allowing for silent capture and playback.
- Loop/Play
When playing back a clip while
When playing back a clip while Play is selected the clip will stop
playing when it reaches the end.
Stylus free
control
Vivid can
be controlled by using the hardware buttons and the keys on the hardware
keyboard, and does not require pulling out a stylus to use it.
