How exactly do you play Jack the Uni-Psychle? Well, it is actually very simple. The game only uses the left and right on your arrow keys on the front face of the Zaurus, the Ok button on the front of your Zaurus cover, and the mail button on your Zaurus cover. This is the 4th small button from the left if facing the Zaurus.

Now that you know the controls, the game play is quite simple as well. You navigate Jack around by using the left and right buttons and you jump from place to place to avoid falling into holes. There are 2 main types of non boss enemies in the game. The walking enemy and the jumping/hovering enemy. You defeat the walking enemy by jumping on its head and you defeat the jumping/hovering enemy by blasting it with your Psychic Attack. The five end-boss machines are unique and it will be up to you to figure out which attack is required to defeat them.

Now all of the menus of the game can be controlled via the mouse(stylus) or the keys on the front cover (with the exception of the Secret Code which requires the number keys from the physical keyboard).

There are four types of menus that you will encounter in Jack the Uni-Psychle. The first is the Main Menu. You have three options: Start, Options, and Quit.

The next menu screen is the Options Screen.
Here you can use up and down to select either music, sound or secret code. When Music is selected you can use the left and right keys to move the slider left or right effectively lowering or raising the volume of the music.
We recommend about a 1/3 on the slider so that the music does not over power all of the sound effects) You can use the Select Key to check and uncheck the Music checkbox, to enable and disable the music. Sound works the same way as music as far as controls go. When you have Secret Code selected you can then use the numbers on the keyboard to type out passwords. And finally the Cancel button will bring you back to your previous menu.
The next menu screen is the Profile Screen.
This screen is so you can select an empty profile that your game will be saved in. (Jack the Uni-Psychle autosaves after each level) At this screen you can use Up and Down keys to navigate between the 3 profiles.
If you have previously saved games then you can use left and right to roll back and forth to and from your previous level saves. Now with one of the profiles highlighted you can press the Ok key to select a new game to be saved into that profile or you can select to continue from that profile at the level you have chosen by pressing the Cancel Button.
Our final menu screen, the InGame Menu, works just like the main menu.
The Ok button chooses resume game, the select button chooses the options menu, and the Cancel button chooses quit game. And there you have it for the controls.
