Shop’n Do is a replacement for the built-in “Task” or “ToDo” application on your
PalmOS device, and as its name suggests, includes a handy shopping list
program.
Demo Version
The
demo version of this program is fully functional for a period of 14 days. When
the demo period has expired, a registration code must be purchased and entered
to make the program usable. The only
feature not enabled in demo mode is the ability to choose what form opens when
the program runs.
Please
try the demo version prior to purchasing this software to ensure:
- it suits your needs
- it runs error free
on your device
Using the Program
This
is an easy application to use and requires little explanation.
“Do” List
- Tap “New” to create a new task, or tap
and existing record to view/edit
- Default priority is 1.
Your can choose priority 1-5
- Task items must have
an associated category. The list of
categories may be edited
- Tap the “Due Date” popup to specify a date
- A reminder alarm may
be set
- Tap the “Sort” button to select sorting
opetions for all tasks
- Tap “Shop’n” to view your shopping
list(s), or tap the menubar to navigate either to the shopping list or
master list of items
- The menubar provides
the following options:
- Form navigation
- Choice of deleting
completed tasks
- Table row color
- Set “Do” List as start up form
(registered users)
- Specify font
“Shop’n” List
- Displays items as
filtered by the list category and sub-category. For example, “Groceries” and “Dairy”, etc.
- The “Clear” button clears only the
list displayed on the form. To
clear an entire list, set the sub-category to “All” first.
- The menubar provides
similar options as the “Do” List menubar.
You can specify if checked items are to be removed from the list or
moved to the bottom.
- Tap “Master List” to create your
shopping list.
Master List
- The category and
sub-category lists are editable.
The program is suplied with minimal data to serve as an explanation
of how the category lists work
- The sub-categories
only display data from the associated category list
- To create a new
shopping item tap “New”. You must have a valid category displayed
first (not “All”)
- The list type is
displayed on the new item record.
Enter the item, and optionally, the quantity and unit of
measurement (lb., can, box, etc.).
To clear the quantity, tap the “X”
icon. You must specify a
sub-category for the item.
- The “Duplicate” button is handy for
creating records that will be quite similar. For example, you can create the item
“Milk, 2%” and assign the correct categories, tap “Duplicate”, and change
“2%” to “skimmed”, tap “Duplicate” and change “skemmed” to “chocolate”,
etc.
- Items checked on the
master list will be added to the “Shop’n”
list
- Menubar items: similar to the other forms.
I
trust you wil find Shop’n Do to be a useful
application.
This
program will evolve based largely on input from its users. If
you have an idea you think will further improve this software, please let me
know…
