| Introduction |
About Profits
Profits is a powerful tool that helps you to have control over your incomes and expenses.
The application is very useful when it comes to organization of your finances. If you have not found out yet where exactly do your money go and/or where they do come from then Profits could help you. Here you'll be able to organize your transactions in different projects and to analyze them using the built in reports and statistics tools. The data could be also transferred to Excel for further processing and/or printing. The Input/Output of data from/to MS Money and Quicken is enabled too!
The entering of data is done in an easy and intuitive way. The data bases themselves are encrypted with a 128-bit RSA encryption based on your password so all the information entered will be kept safe.
Profits Features
| How To Install |
Use an extractor program such as
WinZip
on the PC to get at the Profits files. Install the
application by double-clicking on the .exe file which opens the Install Tool program.
Follow the installation guide to install the application Use the ActiveSync button as usual to install the
program onto your Pocket PC device. Now run Profits
by tapping on its icon! If you have got any

Profits icon. The logo of the program will appear on the display and in a
few
seconds the main application's screen will be shown: At the bottom of the screen there are several tabs through
which you can enter and manage different kinds of data. These tabs are as
follows: Accounts Projects Cards Statistics Categories Currencies Live! Currencies At the right corner of this bar there are two arrows with the
help of which the different tabs can be listed. Detailed information about each
of the above tabs is provided further.
How
to use Profits
Accounts
Accounts present the first tab of the main program's window. Information about the balance of each account can be seen from this view. Using the buttons beneath the table you are able to create new accounts or to delete/edit existing ones.
To
add a new account tap on button New...
In the
New
Account
screen you should enter the account description and starting balance, as well as
the optional bank name and comment. You should select the currency to open the
account in and if this
currency isn't available in the list of
currencies you can add it from
the Currencies
tab in the main screen of the program. You should select the account type
(Checking Account or Savings Account)
and if you select Savings
Account
you have to
also enter the relevant
interest rate and the term of the
account. In this case the application will calculate the interest in the end of
the term and automatically add it to your account balance.
If you want to delete an already entered account tap on button Delete. Please pay attention that if you delete an account all transactions and cards related to this account will be deleted as well.
The edition of the account is done through the New/Edit Account window. To save the changes made and exit the window tap on button OK otherwise tap on Cancel.
Projects
The project is a kind of 'Container of transactions'. It's up to you to select the transactions you'll include in a project.
With the New button you create a new project. All you have to enter in the New Project window is the Project name.
You can change this name later using the 'Edit Project Name' button.
To delete a project just select it from the list and tap on Delete button. Please, pay attention that if you delete a project all transactions included in this project are going to be deleted as well.
With the 'Edit project' button you can manage the transactions the relevant project contains.
You can add anew transaction to the project by tapping on button New Transaction. Then the screenshot shown on the left will be displayed. Fill in the fields provided and when you are ready tap on button OK.
To edit an already entered transaction tap on it to select it and then tap on button Edit Transaction.
To delete a transaction select it from the list of all transactions included in the relevant project and tap on button Delete transaction.
Cards
You can view your card information from the 'Cards' tab in the program's main screen. The balance of each card as well as its number and type are displayed in this view.
Tapping on button New opens the 'New card' screen. You should enter the card's number, select its type (VISA, American Express and etc.) and the account the card is attached to. If your card has a PIN Code you should check the corresponding checkbox and then enter the PIN code in the field provided.
Statistics
From the 'Statistics' tab in the program's main screen you can see different statistics. You can select the statistics you want to see by double tapping on it. You can also set the enclosed period of the statistics using the 'from' and 'to' fields. You can show the legend of a chart by tapping on the Legend button or on the chart itself. The legend can be either in percents or in real money and you can select that from the corresponding checkbox.
Categories
From the 'Categories' tab in the program's main screen you can add a new category or edit/delete the existing categories.
To add a new category tap on the 'New' button and in the 'New Category' screen enter the category's name and type (income or expense). Then you can use your new custom category in any transaction you want.
To delete a category just select it and tap on button Delete. Please pay attention that all transactions from this category are going to be deleted as well.
Currencies
From the C'urrencies' tab in the program's main screen you can add a new currency or edit/delete existing currencies.
To add a new currency tap on the 'New' button and in the 'New Currency' screen enter the currency's name and short description (for example USD for US Dollar). Then you can use your new custom currency to open accounts in it.
If you want to delete a currency just select it and tap on button Delete. Please, pay attention that by deleting a currency from the list all accounts, cards and transactions using this currency are also going to be deleted!
Live! Currencies
From
the 'Live!
Currencies' tab in the
program's main screen you can see current exchange rates for any of the five
major world currencies - US Dollar, EURO, British Pound, Swiss Franc and
Japanese Yen plus the US Dollar/Canadian Dollar exchange rate. To use this
service you need to have internet connection on your pocket pc device.
You can select the currency you need the exchange rates for from the combobox on the top of the screen. Rates are for information purposes only and are subject to change without notice.
Foreign currency rates provided by Dukascopy Trading Technologies. Rates for actual transactions may vary.
Password
You can protect your data with password from the Security/Password menu. Once you set a password for the application you'll be asked for it each time you start the application. The program's database will also be encrypted with a 128-bit RSA encryption based on your password. WARNING: Make sure that you have remembered or written down your password because if you forget it we would not be able to recover it for you and you'll lose all your data.
| Registering |
The demo version of Profits is completely functional except that you can use the application for the period of 14 days only . After purchasing the product, you will receive a registration key and there will be no restrictions.
To register your application open the Help/Register menu and enter the key you have received at the time of purchase. Please make sure that you have set your Owner Name set. To do this please go to 'Start/Settings/Owner Information' of your pocket pc.

The software is delivered as is and Webvisia LLC makes no warranty as to its use or performance. Webvisia LLC does not, and cannot warrant the performance or results you may obtain by using the Software or its documentation. Webvisia LLC makes no warranties, express or implied, as to non-infringement of third party rights, merchantability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Legal
Webvisia’s and its suppliers’ entire liability and your exclusive remedy shall be, at Webvisia’s option, either (a) return of the price paid, if any, or (b) replacement of the product that does not meet the warranty and which is returned to Webvisia with a copy of your receipt. This warranty is void if failure of the product has resulted from accident, abuse, or misapplication. Any replacement software product will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer.
